Swiss funk powerhouse The Next Movement return with More Cowbell, a high-octane, three-track EP that puts their trademark groove, musicianship, and humour front and centre. Released via SoulVision Productions, the project shows the trio at their boldest and most playful.
The EP opens with “Call Me”, a lightning-fast funk assault driven by tight drums, razor-edged guitar work, and a bassline bursting with attitude. Add TNM’s unmistakable vocoder work on top, and you’ve got a track engineered for sweaty dancefloors and late-night festival crowds.
“Tear The Roof Off” follows a song born on tour in the Canary Islands and infused with the colours and energy of the road. It blends electronics, rap, R’n’B flair, and a sun-kissed Spanish twist, delivering a global funk crossover that feels both effortless and infectious.
Then comes the title track: “More Cowbell”. Taking the legendary SNL reference and flipping it into a fully-fledged funk anthem, TNM put the cowbell front and centre. No gimmicks, just raw groove, sweaty rhythms, and the kind of tongue-in-cheek swagger that makes the band so fun to follow.
With More Cowbell, The Next Movement once again remind us why they’re one of the tightest, freshest, and most exciting funk acts on the European circuit.
