The Guest Room
The Guest Room is a Southern California based Neo Soul band comprised of childhood friends. Their eclectic musical influences and tastes culminate to create the unique sound they love to share with their audiences. The Guest Room is known by their fans for their soft-voiced, contemporary themes, and intimate prose. If you leave a GR show not learning some interesting factoid or detail about their work, did you really attend a GR show?
Located generally in the Southern California area, The Guest Room finds themselves playing at all sorts of venues: the 710 Beach Club, Sofar Sounds San Diego Downtown, the Del Mar Fair, the South Bay Pride Fest 2019, various Temecula wineries, Riverside house shows, and everything else in between!
The Guest Room has just released their debut album entitled: Wiwaxia! This project is meant to encapsulate the musical and stylistic evolution of the group over the last year and half, while at the same time, reflecting the community of artists they’ve worked with along the way (i.e. music mixed and mastered by local friends, artwork done by a coworker, etc.) . While listening to the album, the listener should be able to envision a musical biography of the band’s progression and truly understand their mission statement: to create a collection of works honest and authentic to who they are and who they want to become.
Some of their main influences include: Hiatus Kaiyote, Daniel Caesar, Vulfpeck, Fleetwood Mac, and Jamiroquai.
